Now Hiring - Manufacturing Area Sales Manager Maryland in Baltimore, MD

PORTWEST, a leading global manufacturer of safety products, workwear and PPE is currently seeking applications for the position of Area Sales Manager for Maryland to cover the full state. Portwest is one of the fastest growing workwear companies in the world currently employing over 5,100 strong, with customer service staff in over 130 countries. We design and manufacture industry leading workwear, safety wear and PPE products in fully owned production facilities. As the Area Sales Manager you will bring your PPE, workwear and field sales experience to sell Portwest products to distributors in this region. You will be joining an established team reporting into the Regional Sales Manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop an ambitious sales plan to maximise growth in your territory
• Build quality relationships with new and existing customers who are distributors, resellers and agents
• Conduct daily face-to-face sales calls to distributors including agenda setting, product demonstrations and post meeting follow-ups
• Identify accounts with high growth potential and devise an account plan to maximise sales
• Develop strong product knowledge and engage in consultative selling by understanding and selling to distributor needs
• Develop clear and effective written proposals/quotations for current and prospective customers
• Focus on product vitality and aim to sell new product lines in conjunction with the company’s stipulated target
• Ensure follow-up after each sales meeting to close each sale in a timely manner
• Meet weekly and monthly sales targets in line with management’s expectation
• Continue to develop your product knowledge through our online training platform

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• 2-5 years PPE or work wear field sales experience
• Persistent and consistent in efforts to grow your territory
• Clean drivers’ license and willingness to meet clients daily
• Strong prospecting, presentation and sales closing skills

COMPENSATION

We offer an attractive base salary commensurate with experience along with a bonus structure, a car allowance and a competitive benefits package.
